There was a boy* called Flat Stanley once, but he was actually flat because a noticeboard fell on him, and then (because he was flat) he was useful at retrieving keys that had been dropped down sewer grates and so on. And I seem to recall him being posted on holidays at least once or twice.
I'm afraid they're hard to come by nowadays. I got mine as a birthday present a few years back, from my former girlfriend. I'm not sure, but I think it was from a german site.
